Only if the words we spoke were in the shape of flowers. Words have power and are a creative force. They sometimes bubble up during the night if we repress them during the day. The full moon is a symbol of the connection to the feminine or inspiration that may come out in the form of a poem, song or novel.

Still life. Die fear, which brings me despair. Die idea that does not serve me. Fall like colorless leaves, breaking and feeding the ground. Make way for new life, for love that brings roots and in the veils of adoration. Make room for new flowers to grow, resounding with joy and sweet peace.

Murmuro or whisper. Words are represented by the flowers coming out of her mouth. The thoughts and feelings we whisper, things we only speak of at night, that come out in dreams, that become clear under the stars.
Murmuro o susurro.

What if the Maguey or Agave plant had a heart? It would be buried in the sacred earth within its own universe.
The heart of the maguey is used to make Mezcal in Mexico. The word Mezcal comes from Náhuatl “mexcalli” or cooked maguey and it is a significant culural drink. It is first buried in the ground similar to the process of preparing barbacoa and then fermented. The destillation process has deep roots in the the 16th century introduced by the Spaniards which in turn learned it from the Moors 800 years earlier.
I painted an eye and a red ribbon both symbols of protection in the mexican folklore. A little bizarre yet playfully allegoric.

Giving Birth
Giving birth to a little body full of light and stars. Fantastic love that came to explode my chest. Just like that, the cycles pass and I am full of joy and honor of being your mother.
